UNS N05500 (Mone® L K-500) is a nickel-copper alloy with the excellent corrosion resistance of UNS N04400 (Mone® L 400), as well as the advantages of higher strength and hardness.By adding Al and Ti into the ni-Cu matrix and heating it under controlled conditions, the Ni3(Ti, Al) submicroscopic particles are precipitated in the whole matrix to obtain higher properties.The heat treatment used to affect precipitation is often called aging hardening or aging.
